Terms of Service

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of SlimWin, a Windows cleanup tool for developers, operated by Noundry (also doing business as "Plu(rr)al" and "SlimWin"). By using SlimWin, you agree to these Terms.

1. License Grant

SlimWin is provided as a free software tool. Upon obtaining a valid license key, you are granted a non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use SlimWin on any number of machines for personal or commercial purposes.

SlimWin is distributed under the MIT License. You may use it freely, subject to the terms of that license and these Terms of Service.

2. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

• - Use SlimWin to damage, disable, or impair any computer system
• - Attempt to reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble the license validation system
• - Share, redistribute, or sell license keys obtained through our service
• - Use automated means to request excessive numbers of license keys
• - Interfere with or disrupt our servers, API, or infrastructure

3. The Tool & Your System

SlimWin modifies your system by deleting files, removing applications, and clearing caches. While we implement a 4-tier safety system to categorize risk, you are solely responsible for reviewing and approving all cleanup actions before they are executed.

We strongly recommend:

• - Reviewing all items before cleaning, especially those marked "Caution," "Review," or "Dangerous"
• - Maintaining backups of important data
• - Running a scan (--scan) before performing cleanup

4. Disclaimer of Warranties

SlimWin is provided "AS IS" and "AS AVAILABLE" without warranties of any kind, either express or implied, including but not limited to the implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that SlimWin will be error-free, uninterrupted, or that it will not cause data loss.

5. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Noundry and its affiliates shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including but not limited to loss of data, loss of profits, or damage to computer systems, arising out of or in connection with your use of SlimWin, even if we have been advised of the possibility of such damages.

6. License Keys

License keys are provided free of charge and are intended for individual use. We reserve the right to revoke any license key at our discretion, including but not limited to cases of abuse, fraud, or violation of these Terms.

License keys require periodic online validation. SlimWin will continue to function offline using cached validation data, but extended offline use may require re-validation.

7. Telemetry & Data Collection

SlimWin collects anonymous usage telemetry to improve the product. This data does not include file names, file paths, or personally identifiable information. License validation requires communication with our servers. See our Privacy Policy for full details.

8. Marketing Communications

By requesting a license key, you consent to receiving marketing emails from SlimWin, Noundry, and Plu(rr)al. You may opt out of marketing communications at any time via the unsubscribe link in any email or by contacting support@slimwin.com. See our Privacy Policy for details.

9. Modifications

We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated date. Continued use of SlimWin after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.

10. Termination

We may suspend or terminate your access to SlimWin at any time, for any reason, without notice. Upon termination, your license key may be revoked and you must cease using the software.

11. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the United States. Any disputes arising from these Terms or your use of SlimWin shall be resolved in the courts of competent jurisdiction.
